Giorgio Moroder Records Rap for 4th Daft Punk album!

The iconic Italian disco producer Giorgio Moroder has recorded with Daft Punk, URB reports. Moroder, whose work includes Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, said during an interview at the International Music Summit this week in Ibiza, Spain that he recorded a “rap” for the duo’s upcoming record.

URB reports that Daft Punk asked Moroder “to go into a vocal booth and speak about his life. In the studio were multiple microphones of various vintages from the 60s to today. When Moroder asked the engineer why they had so many mics, he replied that the mic they would use would depend on what decade of his life he was speaking about. When Moroder asked if anyone would know the difference, the engineer replied ‘They will know.’”

As reported earlier this year, Chic’s Nile Rodgers and songwriter Paul Williams have also contributed to the album.

Earlier this week, FACT reported that Moroder recently mentioned a desire to work with Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

So, rapping on the new Daft Punk album? This album seems like it’ll follow the normal Daft trend of being completely re-vamperizingness…LOOK THIS IS PROBABLY THE BIGGEST NEWS ABOUT THE ALBUM SINCE..FOREVER! We have so much information about it now. Now we just have to wait for them to release an official press release. Then, singles, music videos, everything..

Anyone remember the iTunes playlist Daft Punk put together a little while back? It featured this track by Giorgio Moroder (Who as I said earlier, is collaborating with them on their 4th album.) So much news!

There’s a tonne of 4th album news coming out today..I’ll do my best to keep everyone up to date. So, there’s the Nile Rodgers audio interview I posted before where he talks a bit about it, and now Giorgio Moroder (you may recognize his signature sound from ‘Together in Electric Dreams’ by the Human League) has let slip he’s also working on the album!
